Our 3 Fundamentals

Caring Old Aged Parents as a divine work

The Bible has much to say about caring for elderly parents and other family members who are not able to care for themselves.

The early Christian church acted as the social services agency for other believers. They cared for the poor, the sick, the widows and the orphans who had no one else to care for them.

Christians who had family members in need were expected to meet those needs. Unfortunately, caring for our parents in their old age is no longer an obligation that many of us are willing to accept.

We are doing this precious work for helping and caring the aged parents abandoned by today's generations.

Bible says that "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever."

Our Vision and Aim

TNot all elderly people need or want constant, live-in care in their children's homes. They may prefer to live in a community with other people their age, or they may be quite capable of complete independence. Regardless of the circumstances, we still have obligations to our parents.

TIf they are in need of financial assistance, we should help them.
If they are sick, we should take care of them. If they need a place to stay, we should offer our home.
If they need help with household and/or yard work, we should step up to assist. And if they are under the care of a nursing facility, we need to assess the living conditions to make sure our parents are being properly and lovingly cared for.

In a single word, our Aim is to change the attitude of the society to prevent evasioning of aged parents.

Our Mission and Strategies

We have around twenty numbers in our old age home - Carmel Charitable Trust. We would like to take care of at least 50 members. But we are helpless, because for each person we need a minimum 2000 Indian Rupees per month. We would like you or anyone like you to support us, by w ay of money or resources. We would be thankful to you and the Almighty would surely bless you for your kind gestures. Everyday people come to us to join our old age home - Carmel Charitable Trust - due to sufficient reasons. Various difficulties are restraining us from admitting new people. Moreover, presently we are able to accommodate only ladies. We are not able to accommodate men due to infrastructure problems. There are a lot many fathers abandoned by their children. To build facilities for such men, Carmel Charitable Trust would have to find nearly 15 lakhs Indian Rupees. Here again, we hope for a positive response from the kind-hearted.
